A
Celebration of Women held at the General Conference
Praise, Prayer and Personal Stories Inspire Over
Five Hundred
The Department
of Women's Ministries of the General Conference sponsored its first
event A Celebration of Women on March 31, and
it was a great success.
|

The
praise team led everyone in uplifting songs throughout the
day
|
The Women's
Ministries division directors and one union director, along with
former GCWM directors, were featured speakers. A Celebration
included a mini-musical, praise singing, special music, prayer sessions,
book giveaways, and stories of how God is working through the ministries
of women throughout the world. An offering was also taken to benefit
designated projects within the divisions. Women's Ministries leaders
and directors from local unions and conferences, anxious to hear
how their sisters are working for the Lord, came from the Washington
metropolitan area, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, West Virginia,
and as far away as California. For details of the day and photos
of the various activities of A Celebration of Women,

Thanks so much
for inviting me to participate in the Celebration of Women.
The entire day was an inspiration! I loved hearing the reports from
the directors around the world. Please express my appreciation to
all the women who worked to make the event a success.
The book giveaways
definitely worked better by name drawing. The group was too large
to do it any other way. The women who visited the ABC on Saturday
night were asking about the books Ginger and I promoted. The Pacific
Press books they asked about most were 30 Days to More Powerful
Intercessory Prayer, 5 Steps to Christlike Living, Sabbath Dinner
Cookbook, The Cure for Soul Fatigue, Bible Studies for Busy Women,
Beyond Defeat, and If My People Pray audio book.

Dear Ardis and
staff,
Thank you for
a wonderful event (Celebration of Women). It was exceptional.
Thanks for taping
the events. I am going to be placing 2 orders - I talked to my mother
in San Diego this morning and she wants a set. One of the women
from my church said that she is ready to get serious about evangelism!
Praise the Lord. God bless you.

Did
you know that...
- The General
Conference Department of Women's Ministries works directly with
the division WM departments and our main focus is working with
those directors? Union and Conference WM directors are in place
to address the needs at those levels.
- Women's
Ministries is a department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
and is now listed in the SDA Church Manual?
- Our official
name is Women's Ministries, not Women's Ministry, because our
department encompasses many ministries to women?
- Our newsletter,
News from the World of Women's Ministries, is primarily
for directors and leaders currently working in Women's Ministries?
- News from
the World of Women's Ministries is available on our web page
or by e-mail (Adobe PDF, or plain text)?
- Women wanting
a scholarship application should contact their home division,
union, or conference WM director?
- We get correspondence
asking about starting a men's ministries? Adventist Men is already
in the SDA Church Manual? Check with your Personal Ministries
(or Family Ministries) Departments.
