Can
be used personally, at your church, or as a fund raiser.

A full color
poster of the Women's Ministries quilt is now available. The poster,
is 20 x 24 inches; it was designed by Linda McDonald, the first
designer for Women of Spirit.
The unique quilt,
which hangs in the General Conference headquarters, features women
from around the world involved in a variety of ministries: personal
witnessing to a neighbor, health ministry, preaching, radio broadcasting,
caring for children, witnessing in the business place, teaching,
office work, personal visitation, worship with the family, and community
services. The quilt itself, designed and fabricated by Marquita
Halstead and Rosemary Peterson, is painted, embroidered, and appliqued.
The border was embroidered by women from ten different countries.
The quilt poster

other woman involved in ministry, or for your church as thank-you

Successful
Women's Evangelistic Meetings Held in Costa Rica
Ellie Green,
a lay person from North Carolina, held evangelistic meetings in
San Jose, Costa Rica, in January. There were 95 baptized and 4 who
joined the church through profession of faith.
The meetings,
which were sponsored by the Carolina Global Evangelism, under the
direction of Robert Folkenberg, were in the Hatillo Church, which
has a membership of about 300.
Although Green
did not know it when she started, there had been opposition to a
woman holding the meetings. In her first sermon, Green used a PowerPoint
presentation to illustrate her main points. At the conclusion she
shared from her heart. "I explained that I coveted Costa Rica for
Jesus and that by His grace, I would look around Heaven one day
and say, 'Look at my friends from the Hatillo Church.'" She closed
by walking up the aisle "touching and hugging everyone I could reach.
I then stood at the back door and kissed and hugged men, women,
boys, and girls."
The response
was overwhelming. Every night the church was filled to capacity
and on weekends there was standing room only. Because of the special
bonds formed, some requested that Ellie Green herself baptize them.
Because she is an ordained local elder and with the pastor's permission,
she did. She did not know that this had never been done by a woman
before in Cost Rica.
Green notes,
"I am not a 'woman's libber' nor am I a 'male basher.' However,
I recognize the talents that lie untapped within many women in our
church talents that could be put to work for the Lord! I have witnessed
first hand the Holy Spirit's power displayed and imparted and witnessed
the latter rain falling on a congregation. It was an awesome experience."
At a dinner
following the meetings, the person who had been the severest critic
before the meetings said, "We were wrong! This has been the best
evangelistic series we've ever experienced!"
If you are interested
in holding meetings in some part of the world, contact womensministries@gc.adventist.org
and we will put you in contact with Carolina Global Evangelism.
All expenses for the meetings are covered; you pay only travel and
lodging.

You
Go, Girl!
While
compiling hundreds of routine performance evaluations of senior
managers and analyzing the results, researchers for a number of
consulting firms stumbled upon a surprising finding: "When rated
by their peers, underlings, and bosses," women executives score
higher than their male counterparts in most categories. While women
might be expected to outscore men in relationship categories such
as listening and fostering teamwork, they also scored highest in
intellectual areas such as "producing high-quality work, recognizing
trends, and generating new ideas and acting on them."Business

April
is National Sexual Assault Awareness Month
Sexual
assault is possible anywhere to anyone. And it devastates the victim.
During
April, in the United States, take advantage of programs available
on personal safety in your community. If there are no programs,
this is the perfect opportunity for your Women's Ministries to offer
something meaningful to your community.
If
you do not live in the United States, is there a special time for
awareness of this problem in your country? If not, you may want
to do something about making awareness happen.
