Dear Women’s Ministries Leaders:

Once again our International Women’s Day of Prayer packet falls in line with our overall General Conference Women’s Ministries theme for the quinquennium “A Ministry for Every Woman – Touch a Heart, Tell the World.” The main focus of this message, written by Joy Butler the Women’s Ministries director for the South Pacific Division, is that Jesus gave us an example of service and love to other that we should emulate. We thank Joy for allowing God to use her to bring us this material.

The packet can be used as it is printed or as a guideline for your special day. You are welcome to make any changes necessary so that it will be culturally acceptable in your part of the world.

Please remember to pray for the work and the workers in the following divisions: East Central Africa Division, South Africa-Indian Ocean Division, and West-Central Africa Division. In each of these divisions our sisters are dealing with many challenges such as poverty, HIV/AIDS and other health issues, abuse, lack of educational opportunities, overwork and many, many more. If you visit our website http://wm.gc.adventist.org you will find more detailed information on the work in these divisions.

There is a Leader’s Manual for the International Women’s Day of Prayer available for your use on this day. Your Conference, Union, or Division leader should have a copy, but if not you can download it from our website at no cost to you.

All that God is asking of us is that we are willing to work with Him. Remember, our challenge is not to solve the problems of the world, our challenge is to live so close to God that He will work through us to meet the needs of the many that are hurting. Let this day be a day of prayer and change in our lives.

Joyfully,
